Lyrics

Avenue Road

You hear these words tossed ‘round
But one word means different things
You can’t sit still in your own home
We were seeking different things

They go hitched in the summer
While the waves were rolling in
They decided they both liked Jazz
To distract them from the real thing

Then they found their way round town
In the streets all drenched in black and red
Cue the irons, and Kew Beach sirens
You know what they say bout the best laid plans

On avenue road
The story unfolds
A story untold
On Avenue Road

She got lost in the spring time
Yet the stars were there to guide
There’s some things you can’t let slide
There’s some thing you just can’t hide

Then they found their way round town
In the streets all drench in black and red
Cue the irons, and Kew Beach sirens
You know what they say bout the best laid plans

On avenue road
The story unfolds
A story untold
On Avenue Road
